Recorded at Hyde Street Studios and Mellowvybz Studios in San Francisco and produced by Mellowvybz, Lay Down is a tribute to and culmination of the past six years, full of road blocks that finally evolved into song. The sound of the album ranges from electronic to folk, pop to R&B, with echoes of the classic ladies of jazz.
“ When I actually sit down and remember why I wrote something the way that I did, it’s like opening a time capsule to a single moment of joy or pain, confusion or absolute defeat – the best moments to get a song out of me. I’m not the most savvy musician, but I’ve learned to use tools in my writing that best express what I’m trying to communicate, whether that means communicating it with myself or an audience – true therapy. “
